The U.S. Department of State’s 6th Annual Global Teaching Dialogue took place virtually in 2021. Sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Global Teaching Dialogue is a chance for Fulbright Teachers to conduct workshops on integrating global competence and international best practices across the K-12 curriculum.

This year there was a full agenda, and I presented “Investigating in a Democracy: Globalizing Discussion, Deliberation, and Debate”. While this year’s conference was held virtually, for the first time I was able to present at a conference with my family attending. During my Ph.D., I have spoken at multiple educational research conferences, but sharing my research and classroom teaching with U.S. and international educators has given me a new sense of optimism regarding the teaching profession.
